EUA NEEG Meeting - 18th August 2020

Once again, members heard from another strong line up of key utility sector participants, covering a number of areas of interest from across gas, electricity and water sectors. Speakers included:

• Ofgem Gas Sector Deputy Director  who gave a summary of both RIIO-2 Draft Determinations and Ofgem’s Net Zero Strategy for gas distribution
• Ofwat Principal Engineer provided an overview of Ofwat's strategy including PR19 funding for new investment and innovation
• British Plastics Federation Pipes Group Director Caroline Ayres took a look at the work of the BPF Pipes Group, items of interest to utilities and latest technical and specification guidance.
• The Centre for Digital Built Britain Executive Director Alexandra Bolton delivered an overview of the work of the CDBB and the role of digital twinning.
• Homes for Scotland Technical Services Manager outlined the need to deliver more homes, an overview of the current policy landscape and key influences for low carbon housing delivery in Scotland. 
• UK Power Networks Innovation Project Lead showed how innovation can be taken into BAU
